On Aug. 5, a Home Depot employee observed a customer stealing merchandise from the Brookpark Road store.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said he saw a man steal seven ceiling fans valued at more than $1,180. The thief left the parking lot driving a dark gray Chevrolet Tahoe.

The officer caught up to the shoplifter at the intersection of West 130th Street and Snow Road. The North Olmsted man was arrested for shoplifting. The items were returned to Home Depot.

On Aug. 3, police were dispatched to a Williamston Avenue address regarding a suspicious situation involving a woman standing in the middle of the street.

An arriving officer located the Parma Heights woman, who was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Aug. 6, a Walmart loss prevention officer observed a customer stealing merchandise from the Brookpark Road store.

An arriving officer located the suspect, who had been detained by store personnel. The Cleveland woman was cited for attempting to steal more than $410 worth of items. She was released at the scene.

An arriving officer talked to the employee, who said she observed one woman fail to scan several items before attempting to leave the store. The stolen items were valued at more than $92. The Cleveland woman was arrested for theft.

On Aug. 5, a traveler on I-480 came to the police station to report that her windshield had been chipped by a rock that came from either a truck driving ahead of her or was kicked up by a truck in front of her. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

On Aug. 5, police were dispatched to Giant Eagle regarding a theft in progress from the Biddulph Road store.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a woman shopper was suspected of putting several items into her purse and walking out of the store without paying.

The employee yelled for the suspect to stop; however, she left in a blue Toyota Rav4. The Parma Heights woman was identified. Charges are pending.
